Instruction Manuals
Canpar’s Driver & Warehouse Instruction Manuals were first developed in 1976. I was initially asked to redesign the manuals in 2003, and over the years have guided them through seven major revisions. The 2026 update was particularly extensive, involving the addition of new policies and procedures as well as the replacement and reorganization of existing content.
An instruction manual is an essential resource for courier and transportation companies because it helps ensure safety, consistency, compliance, and efficiency across the organization. It provides employees with clear guidance on company procedures, safe work practices, customer service expectations, and regulatory requirements, helping new and existing team members perform their roles confidently and consistently. A well-developed manual can reduce errors, improve operational efficiency, support workplace safety, and help protect the company by documenting established policies and procedures. It also serves as a valuable training tool and preserves important organizational knowledge, ensuring that best practices are maintained as the company grows and staff members change over time.
Along with the document updates, I was responsible for managing the print production process. The project included separate 120-page English and French versions, each produced with a perforated final page, perfect binding, and full-colour printing with a laminated cover for added durability.
I am grateful to Canpar for placing their trust in me to support this project over many years. It has been a privilege to contribute to such an important resource, and I sincerely appreciate the opportunity to continue supporting the team through each new edition.
